Today we slept in a little, but went to pompei after we got up. (If you dont know anything about it… here ya go: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pompeii)
It was a roman city dystroyed in 79AD by a volcano. Some of the bodies were burried in the ash, and then decompossed. The bodies left a cavity which archiologist filled with plaster to give us a vivid view of the final position the bodies laid… including one of a dog
You can see some of them covering their mouth and face trying to stop from breathing in the burning ash. I walked into some of the houses and saw paintings on the wall, gardens, the ampitheatre… all the good stuff. A really cool expirence… was kind of cool knowing i was in someone’s living room that someone had lived in nearly 2000 years ago. Tomorrow is my last full day here, so we will probally hoke the volcano and then maybe see the sister city of pompei. Ill update this post later with pictures (uploading now)
